Trustee
PMR Fiduciary Services acts as a Trustee, Co-Trustee, Successor Trustee or Co-Successor Trustee. The following are services we offer in trust administration. Oversee an investment portfolio, collect rent, run a business, distribute income and principal according to the plan outlined in the Trust, oversee the tax aspects of investments and distributions, and filing necessary tax forms, maintain detailed financial records regarding the trust assets, handle daily financial matters for beneficiaries, and pay the grantor's bills and expenses.
Advanced Planning Services/ Power of Attorney
When an individual or a couple has no family available to help with care as they age or become disabled, we can provide for that care when the need arises. With the aid of the client's attorney, an agreement is drawn up detailing the express wishes and desires for future care and management. Under a Power of Attorney agreement, one party (a principal) gives to another (the agent - PMR Fiduciary Services) the authority to act in expressed capacities. Duties can include healthcare decisions, managing daily financial matters, investment selection, placement choices, or end of life decisions. The person granting the power of attorney must have capacity when implementing the power of attorney. A "durable" power of attorney grantspowers to the agent even after the principal is unable to handle his/her affairs.
Representative Payee
We offer the service of representative payee to receive income and disperse monies to pay for expenses for a person receiving benefits from Social Security, Veterans' Administration, Railroad Retirement, Welfare Assistance or other state or Federal benefits or entitlement programs.
Conservator
PMR Fiduciary Services offers both Conservatorships of Person and Estate. Conservatorship of Person involves a court appointment as the oversight manager of a person who is unable to safely manage his or her own personal needs. Personal needs can include management of a person's healthcare, living arrangements, caregivers, and all other individual needs. Conservatorship of Estate involves a court appointment of an oversight manager of a person's financial needs. Those needs can include day-to-day bill payment, investment management, management of owned businesses and/or real estate, and management of income. The court appoints a conservator when it has becomes clear that the conservatee is unable to handle his or her own personal/financial affairs and is unable to make an informed decision or because they may be a harm to themselves or others.
Guardian
We are available to provide services as a legally appointed Professional Guardian. As a guardian we provide services for children. Impairment can be a result of developmental disability, mental illness, accident or other causes. We also can be appointed a co-guardian with a geographically distant family member. Services can include day-to-day personal management, management of finances and prudent investment of assets for the ward's care.
Long Distance Care Management
For families living at a distance, our staff can be the "eyes & ears" watching over a client's physical and cognitive status. Our staff reports any concerns that we note in changes in the individual's ability to live independently, including impairments or a decreasing ability to safely live alone. We can provide all case management and care through our staff or contracted home care companies.
Financial Services
PMR Fiduciary Services can aid a client in remaining independent by assisting them with budgeting and bill paying. This can be done on a short-term or long-term basis. If the client is satisfied with our services we can also be appointed as a trustee, conservator, or an agent under a power of attorney for future care needs. Contracting for financial services is a method for clients to "sample" the quality, caring service that we provide.
Needs Assessment
A comprehensive visit to a client's home to assess services needed, options for home care, additional home services, possible medical solutions or potential placement are all reviewed to provide an all encompassing care plan. We make referrals to medical (primary care & specialists) and professional specialists (CPA's, attorneys, financial planners, stock brokers) and recommend home care options, meal services, and emergency response systems. Additionally, we can review pertinent legal documents and medical records. The care plan will also suggest intervention strategies for families coping with difficult decision-making.
Legal Health Assessment
Sometimes attorneys, bank trust departments, or family members need an assessment of a client's/family member's present cognitive/physical status to determine an appropriate course of action. Our staff physician (A board certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialist) visits the client and evaluates his/her physical, cognitive, and mental status, activities of daily living, adequacy of past and current medical care, unaddressed health issues, and other miscellaneous medical issues and writes a comprehensive report. That report details all issues discovered in the home visit and suggests a plan of care for the individual.
Placement Assistance
A trained professional visits with the client in his/her current residence and recommends a selection of appropriate residences, including assisted living, extended care, skilled nursing, board & care or life care residences. We can assist with any level of care/assistance needed. Services can include:
